March Update Featured

Greetings to all VOTS members past, present, and… future!

At our January 2026 Board Meeting we raised the issue what the Chapter spends every year on Business Liability Insurance

to have access to the Chapter’s Wurlitzer Theatre Pipe Organ housed at The Orpheum Theatre in Phoenix, Arizona. Our current annual rate is $1,300 for basic liability coverage to meet the City of Phoenix’s requirements. At our March 14, 2026 meeting, Jim Lara- VOTS Treasurer, again asked about the insurance policy I, the President, had said I would look into. At the time, I still had not completed my research and stated I would complete everything in the very near future.

I am happy to announce the VOTS Chapter has a new Business Insurance Policy in effect as of March 23, 2026 through the Toll Graves State Farm Insurance Agency, located in Mesa, Arizona. Daniel Garcia is our Business Insurance Contact and has been an enormous asset in making this change.

With the new insurance policy in place, the VOTS Chapter will now spend only $302 per year on the required coverage required by the City of Phoenix. This places our Chapter on much better financial ground moving forward and we should now be able to bank the savings to provide for a brighter future.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

 Respectfully,

Richard S Hockett
